Jacob the ogre!

Ok we did it! For anyone who has talked to us in the last month you've heard our worries about getting Jacob in his Shrek costume for Halloween. But we did it. I won't show you the crying and screaming photos getting him into the costume but who cares! We did it! And he really looked like a little ogre with all the fleece packed underneath. And we even got the little hat on - a miracle! He went out with two neighbourhood boys and had a great time and came back with a whole bag filled with candy. He also had a chance to hand out some candy to kids who came to the door as well. A great night with great weather! love Jacob's mommy

Our little hockey player!

I had Jacob in Edmonton for a week and we were busy. Everyday we played hockey. My nephew cut down a hockey stick for him so it was a better size for him to whack the ball than those little wussy sticks he had. I had to use those. We went over to the neighbors one night and Trudy had this black basket full of cat toys for her kittens. Well Jacob loved this basket. He immediately chucked the cats toys and started calling it his hockey helmet, and was wearing it on his head. We kinda chuckled and when we went to leave he wouldn’t part with the basket, so Trudy told him he could take it home. He insisted on sleeping with it. Well the next morning when I took him out on the driveway to hit balls, he wouldn’t play hockey without his helmet. So I had to get the basket and he wore it on his head. He slept with it, bathed with it, and held it while he watched T.V. He also wouldn’t let anyone try it on. No one! I remembered that I had a blue LA baseball helmut of Rob's in the basement, so I got it out, cleaned it up and gave it to Jacob a couple of days later. He loved it. Now he relinquished the black goalies helmet for me to wear and he put on the blue one. We play hockey on my driveway, so I really did not want to wear his helmut but he insisted. Now is that passion or what?? So now the neighbors have proof that I am a basket case. I also had to dump the recycle blue box so he could shoot the puck into the net. He shoots he scores. love Jacob's baba.

Jacob's first roller coaster ride

Ok I have never laughed so hard in my life as when Jacob went on his first roller coaster ride (he's in the middle taking it all quite seriously at this point). The roller coaster actually went pretty fast and he was holding on so tight to the handle and swinging around the corners with his head jerking from side to side. My cheeks hurt from laughing so much. He loved it! He actually wanted to go on the big roller coaster at Calaway Park but I told him he's not big enough yet. This child has no fear of rides but yet he's scared of any little animal that crosses his path (ok I was the same when I was little so I can't blame him - and I think his dad was scared of animals and rides!) Well we thoroughly enjoyed our season's pass to Calaway Park and will definitely do it again next year! love Jacob's mommy
