Day 3 at Mummy and Daddys......

So we took our first walk with the pram (Stroller) yesterday. We went for a quick walk down the street. Both Mummy and Daddy found it stressful as the traffic here is not even mildly mindful of the fact that we had a pram. There were a few mini-meltdowns but arrived back home in 1 piece.

Today we were going to go for a walk with the baby harness, but Mummy wants to wait another day or two. Mummy's Mummy made us Bangers and Mash for lunch. Mummy had vegetarian bangers.

The mid wife came to visit and do a check up on me. She said that I lost some weight since leaving the hospital. But also added that this was normal. She pricked the bottom of foot to take some blood and this made me cry. Daddy then proceeded to change my nappy on his bed and I then proceeded to pee all over him and the bedspread. But he did not even flinch - nervers of steel.

Saturdays at Mummy and Daddy's House

So we spent our first night at Mummy and Daddy's house. The taxi picked us up from the hospital. I watched as mummy and Daddy tried patiently to set up the borrowed car seat. They seemed to be concerned that it was not working properly. Mummy was very worried for the entire ride. She did not seem comfortable having me in the taxi.

So we arrived home and we played in the front room. Daddy made sure the baby room was set up. He spent a lot of time taking me into the room to change my nappy. He even at times seemed to be taking me in to do dry runs - as I clearly did not seem to need my nappy change every time we went in.

Then we all went to bed. I slept in Mummy and Daddy's room next to their bed in what they call (in England) a Moses Basket. I fed a few times through the night and was up early make lots of gurgly noises. Then Daddy took me downstairs into the kitchen and Mummy fed me.

Then I spent the rest of the morning sleeping on Mummy's Mummy chest as she red her book. Currently I am being burped and Mummy is giving Daddy a very large To Do list. Daddy gets to escape for an hour or so and pick up things.

Day 2 of my life

Ok, a lot happened today. Firstly, I had my first bath today. This lady came to my room and showed Mummy and Daddy how to bathe me.

She then washed me and dried me off so I was really clean. I had not had a bath at this point so I really needed it.

Have I mentioned that the hospital is right on the river Thames on the south bank in London. Daddy always walks by the London eye on the way to the hospital and took this picture today.

Daddy was changing my nappy today and got poo absolutely everywhere. It was on me, on the sheets, on my cloths, on his hands. Not a good moment for Daddy.

And, I had my first official visitor today. Daddies friend Mike came to visit late in the evening. I was sleeping but he Mummy told me he came to see me. Then he and Daddy went out for some fun (Beer and Curry - whatever that means).

So all in all a good day. I cried most of the day. I think I was the loudest baby in our shared room. But I had a lot of fun and look forward to my last day in the hospital tomorrow. Then we get to go home to Mummy and daddies house.

Bye bye.

Hello World

Hi everyone. Well I thought I would say Hi and introduce myself. My name is Jacob and this is my blog. I entered the world this morning (April 26th). I as born at Guy and St Thomas in London UK. Today I am 12 hours old. A lot has happened in the last 12 hours. I have had to learn how to breath with my lungs as I have never used them before. I was up all night practicing inhaling/exhaling, inhaling/exhaling , inhaling/exhaling ,inhaling/exhaling. I think I know how this works now. My eyes are adjusting. I am learning how to make noises. And I also found this source of food last night for late night feeding. Its available to me whenever I want it. It belongs to this women they call Mummy.

I slept at the hospital with Mummy. I do not know much about her but she smells familiar and I feel very comfortable with her. She was there when I was born. She was with this guy whose name is Daddy. He left right after I was born but is allegedly coming back to the hospital today to visit. I already have a lot of friends. The midwife "Rosie" keeps coming by to checkup on Mummy and I. There was also another women at the hospital the other night as well. From what I can figure out, Mummy calls her Mummy. This is a little confusing but I think Mummy also has a Mummy. And to make things more daunting, Daddy has a Mummy to0. Daddy's Mummy was not here though. Apparently she is coming to visit very soon though. I think Daddy called his Mummy last night to tell her that he had met me. He seemed pretty excited.

All in all I feel like a pretty wise old sole at 12 hours old. I have generally been in good spirits except for when they gave me the Vitamin K needle. I did not think that this was necessary and for the first time tried yelling and screaming. As my vocal chord are not yet working, I have to keep practicing this. I plan on mastering this skill.

The place where I am staying (they call it a hospital) is right on the river Thames in London (See picture). Mummy had a view of Big Ben all day long while she awaited my arrival.

Well I have to get going. But I will be posting here on regular basis. Keep in touch and I really hope we all get a chance to meet soon.

Bye bye
